How to Link a Telegram Channel to IBWatch
Linking a Telegram channel to IBWatch allows the platform to manage access to the channel through your Telegram bot.
This is useful when you have a private Telegram channel where your traders receive signals, market updates, educational content, announcements, or other exclusive content.
Before starting, make sure you have:
An active IBWatch account
A Telegram account
A Telegram channel
Administrator access to the Telegram channel
Access to the IBWatch dashboard
Step 1: Create or Select a Telegram Channel
Open Telegram and create a new channel, or select an existing channel that you want to connect to IBWatch.
A private Telegram channel is recommended, especially when the channel contains exclusive content intended only for approved traders.
To create a channel on Telegram:
Open Telegram.
Select the option to create a new channel.
Enter your channel name and description.
Set the channel to Private Channel.
Complete the channel creation process.
You may also use an existing channel, provided you have permission to add administrators to it.
Step 2: Add the IBWatch Admin Bot to the Channel
The next step is to add the IBWatch administration bot to your Telegram channel.
The bot username is:
@ibwatch_adminbot
Open your Telegram channel and navigate to the channel administrators section.
Depending on your device, you can usually find this by opening the channel profile and selecting:
Administrators → Add Administrator
Search for @ibwatch_adminbot and add it as an administrator.
The bot must be an administrator for IBWatch to verify and manage the connection to the channel.
If you cannot find the bot while searching through the administrator list:
Search for @ibwatch_adminbot directly on Telegram.
Open a conversation with the bot.
Tap Start to initiate the bot.
Return to your Telegram channel.
Try adding the bot as an administrator again.
After adding the bot, make sure it remains listed among the channel administrators.
Step 3: Forward a Message from the Channel
After adding @ibwatch_adminbot as an administrator, open the Telegram channel and select any message that has already been posted in the channel.
Forward the message directly to @ibwatch_adminbot.
Forwarding a message allows the bot to identify the Telegram channel you want to connect.
After receiving the forwarded message, the bot will ask you to provide the channel ID generated from your IBWatch dashboard.
Keep the bot conversation open while you complete the next steps.
Step 4: Open the Telegram Channels Page on IBWatch
Sign in to your IBWatch account and open your dashboard.
From the side menu, select:
Telegram Channels under Telegram Config
This page displays all the Telegram channels currently registered under your IBWatch account.
Click the Link Telegram Channel button to begin creating a new channel record.
Step 5: Enter the Telegram Channel Name
Enter a name that will help you identify the channel inside IBWatch.
For example:
Free VIP Channel
The name does not necessarily have to match the exact Telegram channel username, but using the same or a similar name will make the channel easier to recognize later.
After entering the channel name, click the Create button.
IBWatch will create the channel record and display it in the Telegram channels table.
Step 6: Copy the IBWatch Channel ID
After creating the channel, locate it in the Telegram channels table.
You should see a unique channel ID generated by IBWatch.
Copy this channel ID.
This is the ID requested by @ibwatch_adminbot after you forwarded a message from your Telegram channel.
Make sure you copy the complete ID without adding spaces or changing any characters.
Step 7: Send the Channel ID to the IBWatch Admin Bot
Return to your conversation with @ibwatch_adminbot on Telegram.
Paste the channel ID you copied from the IBWatch dashboard and send it to the bot.
The bot will use the forwarded Telegram message and the IBWatch channel ID to connect the correct Telegram channel to your IBWatch account.
When the connection is successful, you should receive the following response:
“Your Telegram channel has been successfully linked.”
Your Telegram channel is now connected to IBWatch.
Confirm That the Channel Has Been Linked
Return to the Telegram Channels page on your IBWatch dashboard.
Check the channel record to confirm that it has been updated with the channel name and chat id.
You should also confirm that:
@ibwatch_adminbot is still an administrator of the channel.
The correct Telegram channel was forwarded to the bot.
The correct IBWatch channel ID was submitted.
The channel appears correctly in your IBWatch dashboard.
Troubleshooting
The Admin Bot Does Not Appear When I Search for It
Search for @ibwatch_adminbot directly through Telegram and start a conversation with it.
After starting the bot, return to your channel and try adding it as an administrator again.
The Bot Does Not Respond to the Forwarded Message
Confirm that the message was forwarded directly from the Telegram channel and not copied and pasted as plain text.
Also confirm that @ibwatch_adminbot has been added as an administrator of the channel.
The Channel ID Is Rejected
Return to the IBWatch dashboard and copy the channel ID again.
Check that:
You copied the ID from the correct channel record.
No spaces were added before or after the ID.
You did not submit the Telegram channel username instead of the IBWatch channel ID.
The Wrong Telegram Channel Was Linked
Confirm that the message you forwarded to the bot came from the intended channel.
If the wrong channel was used, remove or unlink the incorrect channel from IBWatch and repeat the linking process using a message forwarded from the correct Telegram channel.
The Channel Was Linked but Is Not Working
Confirm that @ibwatch_adminbot is still an administrator.
Removing the bot from the channel or changing its permissions may prevent IBWatch from managing the channel correctly.
You should also verify that the Telegram channel record still exists in your IBWatch dashboard.
Important Notes
Do not remove @ibwatch_adminbot from the channel after completing the setup.
Avoid sharing your IBWatch channel ID publicly. Only submit it through the official IBWatch admin bot when completing the linking process.
For paid or exclusive communities, using a private Telegram channel is strongly recommended. This gives you greater control over who can access your content.

Before completing the setup, confirm that you have:
